Life
Mr. Louie Alfaro grew up in South Texas. He was raised as a migrant worker (Worked Picking Crops). He can remember when the family had no electricity, no running water, no toilet, no showers and barely enough food to eat. The family traveled quite frequently during the summer months in search of work. It was during this time that Mr. Alfaro learned the importance of hard work. It goes without saying that he learned many valuable lessons from living in poor neighborhoods (Barrios) and working in the fields. His mother always said:
“I'm teaching you about life and about what it takes to survive in the real world. Nothing comes easy and you must always work hard for everything. Don't be a burro, learn!”
It is through his family and the martial arts that Mr. Alfaro found the strength to persevere. To date, Mr. Alfaro instills the same values to every Martial Arts student that he teaches.
